Terms of Service for Signal Atlas

These terms govern your use of the Signal Atlas mobile application ("the app"), developed by Latent Divergence ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms.
1. What the App Does
Signal Atlas measures and visualises Wi-Fi and mobile signal strength as you walk through a building, and offers analysis such as coverage scores and router placement suggestions. It measures signal; it does not and cannot boost, amplify or otherwise improve signal.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Android devices you own or control, subject to these terms and the Google Play terms.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the app only where you are entitled to survey — your own premises or places where you have permission. You must not use the app to attempt unauthorised access to networks, to interfere with networks you do not own, or in violation of any applicable law. The app reads publicly broadcast signal information only and provides no means of joining or attacking networks.
4. Measurements Are Estimates
Signal readings, positions, floor outlines, coverage scores and placement suggestions are estimates produced by consumer hardware and approximate positioning. They vary with device, environment and how you walk. Do not rely on them for any safety-critical, legal, contractual or professional-engineering purpose. Verify independently before making decisions with material consequences (e.g. leases, installations, purchases).
5. Ads
The app is free and supported by advertising served by Google AdMob. Ad content is provided by third parties and we are not responsible for it. See our Privacy Policy for what AdMob may collect.
6. Your Data
Your scan data stays on your device and is yours. We have no access to it and no ability to recover it — back up your device if the data matters to you. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
7. Intellectual Property
The app, its design, graphics and branding are owned by Latent Divergence. These terms grant you no rights in them except the licence above.
8. Disclaimer of Warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of measurements, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or loss of data or profits, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including under Irish and EU consumer law.
10. Changes and Termination
We may update the app and these terms; the current terms will always be posted at this address with a new effective date. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. We may discontinue the app at any time — your locally stored data remains on your device regardless.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts. If you are a consumer in the EU you also benefit from any mandatory protections of your country of residence.
