Privacy Policy for Latent Studio
Effective Date: July 18, 2026 | Terms of Service
This Privacy Policy describes how Latent Studio ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use the App. Latent Studio is published by Latent Divergence ("the Developer") for Android (com.latentdivergence.latentstudio). The App generates and edits images entirely on your own device; this policy explains what limited data is involved in running it and who processes that data.
1. The Short Version
Latent Studio generates and edits images entirely on your phone. Your prompts, your photos, and your generated images never leave the device — there is no account and no server to send them to.
The Google Play version is ad-supported: it shows occasional full-screen ads through Google AdMob, which uses an advertising identifier. That is the only data collection in the App, it never includes your prompts or images, and in regions that require it you are asked for consent first. A separate ad-free build is distributed outside Google Play.
2. Information We Collect
Your creative content: none. We never collect, log, transmit, or store your prompts, your generated images, your edits, your photos, or your files. All generation and editing happens on your device; we operate no servers and there is nowhere for that content to go.
The App stores the following data locally on your device only:
- Your most recent prompt and in-app settings, held in the App's private storage;
- Generated images, written to your device's own photo gallery (
Pictures/Latent Studio/) and to the App's private storage; - AI models you choose to install;
- Any photo you select for editing, copied into the App's private storage for the duration of that edit.
This data is deleted when you clear the App's data or uninstall it. Images you have already saved to your gallery remain there, because they belong to you.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The Google Play version of the App shows interstitial advertisements served by Google AdMob, a third-party advertising service operated by Google LLC. When an ad is requested, Google may collect and process device information such as your advertising ID, IP address, device model, and coarse location, and may use it for ad serving, frequency capping, fraud prevention, and (where permitted) personalisation. We do not receive this data, and we run no analytics of our own.
Your prompts and images are never sent to Google or to any advertising service. They are not part of an ad request and never leave your device.

- You can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of ad personalisation in Android's settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on device).
The ad-free build distributed outside Google Play contains no advertising SDK and no third-party SDKs of any kind — it collects nothing at all.
4. Consent (EEA and UK)
Where the law requires it, the App presents Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form before requesting ads, so you can choose how your data is used for advertising. You can review or change that choice at any time from within the App.
5. Network Access
Latent Studio uses the internet for two things only:
- Downloading models you choose to install — ordinary file downloads from Hugging Face (
huggingface.co). We send no prompts, no images, and no identifiers; Hugging Face sees the request (including your IP address) as any web server would, under their own privacy policy: https://huggingface.co/privacy - Serving ads (Google Play version only) — via Google AdMob, as described in Section 3.
Once your models are installed, image generation and editing work fully offline. Only advertising requires a connection.
6. Permissions the App Uses
- Internet — to download models you install, and to serve ads (Play version);
- Advertising ID (
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID) — for AdMob, Play version only; - Notifications — to show progress while an image generates, so you can leave the App;
- Foreground service — to keep a long generation alive when you switch apps;
- Vibrate — a short buzz when a generation finishes.
Latent Studio does not request storage, camera, location, contacts, microphone, SMS, or call-log permissions. When you pick a photo to edit, Android's own file picker hands the App just that one file — the App has no access to the rest of your photos.
7. Age and Children
Latent Studio is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed at children. AI image models can produce unpredictable and unsuitable output. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ad serving is configured through Google AdMob, which applies its own policies for ads.
8. Legal Bases and Your Rights (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, the limited processing described above is either carried out by Google as an independent business (see Section 3) or occurs locally on your device. Because we do not hold your personal data, requests to access, correct, or delete personal data connected with advertising should be directed to Google via the links in Section 3. You can also exercise device-level controls (resetting the advertising ID, withdrawing advertising consent in the App, revoking permissions, or clearing the App's data).
9. California Residents
We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. Advertising-related processing is performed by Google; see Section 3 for controls.
10. Data Security and Retention
All App data is stored in the App's private storage on your device, protected by Android's application sandbox. It is retained until you delete the relevant item, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App. Because we hold no copy of your content, there is no server-side retention period and nothing for us to delete on your behalf.
11. Third-Party AI Models
Latent Studio downloads open-source AI models (Stable Diffusion and community fine-tunes) published on Hugging Face. We did not train them, they carry their own licences, and we have no control over what a model outputs. See the Terms of Service for the licence restrictions that apply to your use of them.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
